Whats this all about?
Try me is a participatory installation. It's purpose is to demonstrate the importance of  equalling skill and challenge according to Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's Quadrant Model of Flow. This booklet takes the participant through three stages of differing levels of skill and challenge through illustration. Each stage causes a different emotional state.
The first stage is equally low challenge and skill where instructions are to draw a prompt from memory.
The second stage is high challenge and medium skill levels where a reference image of the prompt is given and the instruction is to draw again.
The third stage is equal challenge to skill where the participant has built up the skill necessary to meet the challenge of drawing the prompt from their imagination. A state of flow is entered when a person participates in a task where a high level of skill is met with a high level of challenge.
